So on our 'announcement list' that we had made, we agreed that we wanted to tell our all friends down here at the same time. We typically do something all together at least once a weekend. So dinner plans were arranged to the Olive Garden (my request...I wanted breadsticks and their salad).
I guess Jeff and I should've had a game plan of how we were going to announce it, but at the same time it is hilarious the way it happened...
So the salad, soup, breadsticks, drinks, and apps were all served, everyone was in mid-conversation catching up and enjoying themselves. All of a sudden Jeff leans in and goes, "Hey want to hear something crazy...!?.....Jess is pregnant!!!!" Me thinking he was about to tell another NTC story was completelyyy caught off guard and was like..."wait, what??" So obviously everyone thought he was joking. It took a few minutes to convince them that he was being completely serious and we were in fact having a baby.
Afterwards I was like Jeff you are nuts, and he said, "I couldn't help it, I was just way to excited."

Our first baby shopping experience
So one of the first things Jeff wanted to do when he got home was to go check out all the baby stores. (He has been super cute and SOOO excited, I love it!) While he was gone I actually found a super cute baby boutique here in Columbus and fell in love with a nursery. We always thought we would get our nursery from Pottery Barn (yes we are those people) but after doing some research and talking to the people at this boutique I realized that Pottery Barn is great and all, but you are really paying for the name, not the quality. Don't get me wrong, Pottery Barn has amazing nurseries, but its not top-of-the-line. The nursery I fell in love with is all-wood and made in the U.S. Prices are the same as pottery barn, but the quality definitely reflects that.
Jeff ended up picking the same nursery I fell in love with (score!) and he was like ok lets order it...I told him lets just wait a little longer and maybe look around some more since its still pretty early.
Our next stop was Baby'R'Us. It was so much fun just walking around the entire store and looking at everything we will need. Since Jeff is pretty much baby clueless it was really cute to see him walk around and just take everything in. His comment was, "Wow babies need a lot of things..."
When we reached the car seats, this is where he got the most passionate. He said we had to get the most expensive one because obviously that was the best and the safest and no baby of his was going to be unsafe in a cheap one....ok Jeff lol. While he was going down the line of carseats and looking at all the specs and prices, he reached the booster seats...being baby clueless as he is, he was appalled at them and was like 'oh no, these will just not do, how can these be safe...?!? I had to explain to him those were for like 5 year olds and not newborns. Ah could he be any cuter!?

Ode to the First Trimester
Oh First Trimester I am so happy you are behind me. The throwing up for absolutely no reason, the aversions, the smells, the exhaustion, the peeing twice an hour, the hormone surges, the trip to the ER, etc. etc. etc. I can honestly say you gave me a hell of a 3 months.
But you also brought me pure joy. I know the first 3 months are the most crucial and all your ickiness was for a really good reason, you were creating something nothing short of a miracle.
Overall....I feel my worries start to diminish....we had made it to the Second Trimester! WOOHOO!

We Made a List...and Checked it twice!
We didn't realize how difficult and exhausting it is to announce we are pregnant! We knew we wanted to tell our close friends and family ourselves and not just post it on facebook...or have them find out via facebook from someone else....so we literately made a list of people we had to tell. This list kept growing, and growing, and growing.
After our families were informed it was on to the friends list.
Even though it was exhausting making all the phone calls/sending out the emails, it was SO much fun and so exciting to see everyone's reactions. One of the most common reactions we got was, "Finally!!!"....what do you mean finally!?!? haha, there is nothing wrong with waiting awhile!
I'm sure we left out a few important people that had to find out via facebook, and I'm really sorry for that, but at least we attempted! But I highly recommend actually writing down a list of those who have priority of your special news, it makes life so much easier!

Week 12: Daddy finally comes home
Towards the end of week 12 Jeff finally came home. I will be honest I was a little nervous/excited to see him because I was definitely showing and when he left me I was pretty much the same size that I have always been since he first met me.
Stats:
Weight: 101
Cravings: If I see something I will tend to want it...
Oh and I need to brag for a moment...Jeff did SO well at his training, he got the award "Hero of the Battle." Proud Wife right here!!! :) After Jeff settled back in at home and finally got some rest, we were so excited to share the news with the rest of our family and friends!
Beginning of week 12 I also informed my work of my news...thankfully, they were all SUPER excited. I am so blessed to work with such amazing people!

Week 11: I have a big mouth
So after the excitement of telling my family, I was almost at the end of my first trimester, and I was pretty lonely because Jeff was still gone and wanted to talk to my friends....I couldn't keep my mouth shut any longer. Before Jeff left I had told him I was probably going to tell a few select people our news.
Sooo after a few exciting phone calls our secret was beginning to become public. In a way it made it feel more real!

Week 10: Good bye size zero hello triple digit weight
Week 10 marked the week I no longer could button my favorite pair of jeans. I also hit 100 pounds. Thought this was definitely blog-worthy news.
