Happy Birthday tooo Me!

Holy cow I'm 26 today! I woke up to what I thought was Lexi kicking me, but really it was the baby! Best way to wake up on your birthday, being wished a happy birthday by your little baby inside of you!

Presents!

Since my shower is right around the corner, almost every day for the past week I come home to a package! I get sooo excited opening all the packages, I try to wait for Jeff, but some days I can't wait haha.

This was baby's first baby shower gift! I actually let Jeff open it, and I'm glad I did because I think he was more excited then me to open it, and his reaction was adorable. I swear he loves pink and little girl things more then me!

Enclosed was our fitted crib sheet and bed skirt! Thanks Karen!!
I know a lot of people can't make my shower, and thats ok because it is a funky weekend, but I'm also thankful that those who can still make it are shipping the gifts because they know we will have limited/to no space in our car to bring everything back to Georgia! Thanks for being so thoughtful!!! :)

23 Weeks!

Happy 23 Weeks to me!

Baby is the size of a grapefruit! Holy cow, that can't seem possible!
Baby can apparently hear our voices so we try to talk to her often! She is still super active. Lexi loves to cuddle my belly and every once and awhile baby girl will kick her! I know they are going to be best friends! And thank the lord I am feeling AWESOME this week. I have almost no back pain, I'm sleeping really well (I only get up 1-2 times a night!), and my energy levels are pretty good! They always say you hit a 'honeymoon' period during your second trimester....and I thought everyone was lying, but I think its safe to say I am finally there!

Loving all the books!

Baby girl already has quite the library started! Loving all the adorable books that are being sent to us! Thank you so much everyone! We can't wait to read all of them to her!

The Nursery is Coming Along!

So baby girl's nursery is coming along! The painting is finally done and Friday the 8th, all our furniture was delivered!

Left side of the nursery

Right side of the nursery (shows the colors better) And my Lexi baby!
Tip of advice: If the store offers delivery and set up (obviously for an additional fee) DO IT! You always see on movies/hear horror stories of what a pain it can be to set up nursery furniture. It was one of the best decisions we made was to just pay the extra fee to have them deliver and set up everything. One less thing we had to worry about, plus we know that it is set up correctly! The woman from the boutique actually came on the delivery to make sure every piece was perfect. Nice added benefit from ordering from a boutique!

Jeff was tired after all his hard work monitoring the delivery guys LOL
Overall we are SO happy with the furniture! It is BEAUTIFUL! However, the 5-drawer chest we ordered was WAY bigger then we expected so it threw off our floor-plan, so with a few adjustments (Thanks, Jeff!) we finally have it the way we want it. Thankfully I hadn't picked out the fabric for my chair that we fell in love with yet, because come to find out....it definitely is not going to fit :( So no biggy, we're just going to order a traditional glider!

Having the a CRIB in our house is making things seem more real!!!!!! Eeeee!

Due Date Update

So quick update....apparently the Army hospital miscalculated my due-date ......SO to make a very long story short....new due date is a week later... October 14th!

Happy 2 Years to us!

June 5th, 2012......two years from our wedding day, so crazy to think about! Boy has the time flew by! On our anniversary it was so fun to think about every moment of that absolutely incredible day. I can still remember how I was feeling at certain times and what I was doing. I also spent the morning looking through all our amazing wedding pictures, and I must've watched our wedding video like 5 times.

June 5th, 2010
For our anniversary we had planned to go out to a nice dinner and enjoy each others company, and that was it, I didn't want to do anything crazy. When I got home from work that day, I was surprised to see Jeff's car in the driveway, come to find out he left work early to surprise me! I walked into the house and saw beautiful red roses. He's so thoughtful :)

For each anniversary we like to do the 'traditional' anniversary gifts. 1 year is a paper gift and 2 years is a 'cotton' gift. For Jeff's gift I got him a few 'cotton' baby clothes with sayings like 'daddy's girl, etc etc.' Jeff, being the thoughtful guy that he is got me a couple down body pillows to help me sleep and ease my back pain. I've obviously been mentioning my back pain and sleeping issues, and I couldn't find a pillow or solution that seemed to help. But the pillows he found were perfect! He also got me a nice gift certificate to get a mani/pedi at my nail salon because he heard me say that I couldn't paint my toes anymore because I can't reach them! I def plan on using this soon because I can really use a foot massage and my toes need painting!

SOO cute!!
We then had an amazing dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants and ended the night watching our wedding video one more time. I am so incredibly lucky to have found Jeff. He is literately my best friend and knows me better then anyone ever will. He also treats me better then I could ever believed possible or more then I feel like I deserve. I thank god every day that we stumbled upon each other at Bentley. To many, many, many more years of happiness and wedded bliss! Love you Jeffrey John!

22 Weeks! Crazy to think next anniversary our little peanut will be here to help us celebrate!

Nursery is ordered!

Last weekend we made our final decision on what nursery set to get. We decided on a Baby's Dream nursery. After doing all our research we knew it was the best choice because it always got amazing ratings and according to 'Baby Bargains' it got an A rating (not many lines got A's!).

So we went with this crib:

In espresso!
This changing table/dresser:

In espresso! And how amazing is this...it flips over to be either a dresser or changing table!

And this dresser chest:

As for the mattress, good lord I didn't realize there were so many options! I thought you just walked into a store and said, "I need a baby mattress." Um no. There are soo many different options. So obviously I had to go back and do a ton of research on what was the best and safest. From my research, they recommend a foam mattress over a coil mattress. Apparently they are hard to come by and you usually have to order them online but thankfully the boutique we ordered the furniture from carried them. So furniture is officially on order! I just have to go back and pick out the fabric for my chair but I want to wait to see what the furniture looks like with the paint.

Painting Baby's nursery!

So when those who are close to me think of 'pink' they usually think of me. When we found out we were having a girl (eee!!) the question wasn't what color to paint the nursery, but what shade of pink we should paint the nursery!

We fell in love with this bedding set from Pottery Barn Kids so I started doing some research on what colors would compliment it.

Petite Paisley Nursery Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids
Well while googling it I stumbled upon this sample nursery design from Pottery Barn. LOVE it. So paint colors, done!

We decided to do 3 walls the Pink Cadillac (the lighter pink) and an accent wall of Sweet taffy (the darker pink) which the crib will go along.

We got Benjamin Moore's line of Natura, the 'eco-friendly' paint with obviously less chemicals and all that bad stuff. The best part about this paint is it has so little fumes, there is barely a 'paint' smell. Even though I didn't help paint the nursery it was nice not having the whole house smell like paint.

FYI: Jeff's first time painting EVER!

Here we go! The first stroke of pink paint!!!
I can't wait until its all done! Baby is going to be a very lucky little girl!

21 Weeks!

Week 21 thankfully was a lot calmer then week 20. My back is doing sooo much better and I was able to get off bed rest and go back to work. Its still sore, and certain motions still causes a sharp pain, but at least I'm able to move around.

I spent the week catching up on all the errands I was supposed to do last week and cleaned the house. Bless his heart, Jeff tried so hard to do the cleaning, but I guess I'm just a super clean-freak and like things done in a particular way.

Jeff participated in his Squadron's Spur Ride, so he was gone a majority of the week. I kept thinking to myself thank god my back drama happened the week before! When he got home he was in rough shape so it was my turn to take care of him. But yay! He got his spurs!

Oh! And Lex got a new hair cut....how freaking cute is she!?

Stats:
Weight: 114
Cravings: Lately I've had a huge obsession with McDonald's pineapple mango smoothies!
Ouch: Still back pain, not extreme thank god, and starting to get carpel tunnel in my legs at night :(

Baby is the size of a pomegranate!

Mommy why is your belly getting soo big!?
